First of all, I'd like to say a HUGE thank you to those of you who provided me with links to all of those fonts I love. I *think* I have recovered them all. Now onto Monday Made It!
I officially declared this weekend DIY weekend. I had several pinned projects that were just waiting to get done. And since I'm running out of time before school starts, I got to work!! Here's a look at what I did:

These are brain breaks! I've seen several versions online recently, but I wasn't completely satisfied with the ones I saw. So, I created my own!
Another idea I've pinned and loved, is this:
This version comes from The Lesson Plan Diva.
Here's my version.
This is a reminder to my kiddos who constantly like to talk to me while I'm pulling small groups during center time. If the lights off, they can talk to me. If it's on, I'm invisible. :)
I used these pens to decorate the light. I am in love with them! They are permanent and work wonderfully! I got them at Wal-Mart for about $3.
I also pinned a dismissal routine chart from Pinterest and it's been on my to-do list for awhile. Not anymore! I made it specific to my kiddos and I'm excited to have a posted version of my dismissal routine for next year. I plan on cutting it down and laminating it when I can get into my classroom. Hopefully soon!
Finally, I created these birthday balloon pencils a couple days ago and wanted to share them again with Monday Made It.
If you're beginning to think about back to school time too, here are some recent additions to TpT I've made for back to school time.
This contains 18 back to school literacy centers! Check it out by clicking the picture.
Also, I created 16 "Scoot" activities relating directly to the Common Core standards. I created one set for first grade and one for second grade. Click on the pictures below to view them!

Hi Amy! So glad you stopped by my blog so I could find you! I wondered if you had some of your brain breaks available to see so I could get an idea of what to do... I want to make those!!

I wasn't thrilled with some of the brain break activities I saw as well, but I was too lazy to make up my own. Kuddos to you! I like your "I'm Invisible" light. I may have to steal that idea! I really like your Dismissal Checklist. I may have to steal that, too :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing!

Hey! Thanks for commenting on my blog! I love your push light! I MIGHT have to copy! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, your blog does the word verification, too. It's easy to turn it off... Click "Settings" on the left > "Posts and comments > Find "Show word verification" > On the drop-down menu, click No! :)
Thanks, again, for visiting! :)

Hello Amy!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog and I'm happy I did! I teach second grade as well!
I made the brainbreak craft and I am excited to use it this year.
When I saw your "I'm invisible" light I decided I HAVE to make one as well!!! Super adorable!
Another one of your projects I need is the dismissal chart.
I'm looking forward to reading about other crafts, and ideas you have for second graders.

I love the "I'm Invisible Light" too. Where do you get the light at? at walmart too or did you make it?
ReplyDeleteThese ideas are great! NOT only am I going to make them for myself, but I plan on making them for my team as well for their Christmas gift! I love the pencils with balloons for a birthday treat. I do the huge Pixie Sticks with a balloon cut out and the kids can't wait to come to school on their birthday!
