Word Building with Paint Cards

So I saw this idea on Pinterest about a week ago and I LOVED it!! And I couldn't help myself- I rushed right over to Lowes for some paint cards and started making a list of onsets and rimes. I wanted to have a bunch of rimes for each vowel sound so that we could focus on a vowel sound a week. I decided on 11....since that's how many short "a" rimes I was able to come up with. Haha! However, it took me FOREVER to come up with 11 rimes for each of the other short vowels. Especially "u." My brain would not function! Anyways, if you want to make this fun activity for you classroom, I'll make it EASY for you- I am providing the list of onsets and rimes I used. It's posted after these pictures.

I'm using it as a center activity in my room. Here is what it looks like:
